I was super excited to be asked to be a judge for the recipe contest at the 2013 Fort Mill Strawberry Festival. Judges, including professional chefs and local business owners, and myself had the very difficult task of tasting so many delicious entries. I had the honor of judging the "Anything Goes" category. My personal favorite, a mixed green salad with grilled chicken topped with a WONDERFUL strawberry dressing. YUM! I even got to spend time with the Queen! It was a fun time despite the cold dreary weather. I do hope they ask me to do this again next year!

Strawberry Festival Pageant!
I was excited to be asked by Queen contestant, Dana Boutwell, to be a sponsor for the Strawberry Festival Pageant. With this sponsor responsibility, I had to create an ad to run in the program book. If you don't know me, and if you do, you know this was not a task that I wanted to take on. I didn't feel that I had the time and/or the expertise to create an ad for my business. So Dana paired me with Jessica of the Fort Mill Magazine. I think the ad turned out Fantastic....if I don't say so myself!! I hope everyone turns out for the pageant and I wish the best of luck to Dana Boutwell in her quest to win the crown!
1st Annual Taste of Fort Mill
What a great evening! In my opinion, the 1st Annual Taste of Fort Mill benefiting the children of the Palmetto School, was a huge success. It was so nice to meet to many wonderful and funny people who came out to support such a worthy cause. The Springfield Golf Club was a beautiful venue for the event, which was held under a huge white tent speckled with teal tables that hosted super yummy "tastes" from local businesses. The Cupcake Girl participated with samples of salted caramel (the crowd favorite) and chocolate minis. 400 mini cupcakes were tasted by those in attendance. My super helper, my daughter Sophia, was a true trooper and help me tremendously. I hope to be asked back for the 2nd event next year!!
It's strawberry time!!! My favorite time of year! And I was so honored to be asked to make the dessert for the Strawberry Festival Sponsor Shindig this year! I have never seen the Springs Close Trial Barn look better. It was a gorgeous evening for this wonderful event and I am so glad I was able to participate.

Price Increase Effective April 1, 2013
I've resisted as long as I can. But cupcake prices have to increase.....just a little. Starting April 1st all cupcakes will now be $20/dozen unless a Speciality cupcake (i.e. Cadbury Egg) or if you have requested toppers and fondant work. I will price those out for your specific order. Good news however, is that all cupcakes at any future Cupcake Drop will still only be $1.50!!!!!
Continue to place your orders via email at thecupcakegirl@rocketmail.com or you can call me at 803-548-5776!
I'm still trying to make the world a little sweeter....one cupcake at a time!!!

New Ordering Procedures
To all my favorite friends and customers. I am really getting busy which I LOVE. However, I am getting orders from everywhere...Facebook, email, text messages, phone and it is really getting overwhelming and I am afraid I will lose or misplace an order. SO to make it easier for all involved, I am now going to request ALL ORDERS be placed through my email at thecupcakegirl@rocketmail.com. I am also in the process of adding Paypal so you can use your credit card for easier purchasing. I will still take your checks and cash but so many of you have asked for the credit card option I thought I would give it a try. Starting March 1st when you place an order through email you will receive an invoice. Then you can pay with your credit card on-line at the time of ordering OR at pick-up with cash, check or my new credit card swiper. LOTS of information all at once but if you have any questions feel free to post them on Facebook or send me an email.
